Food trucks coming in May
Sherry Morris, the city of Pensacola’s Planning Services Administrator, has sent to the city council a draft document outlining the City’s upcoming Food Truck Pilot Program, which is modeled after in New Orleans.
“We believe that this program will be a good ‘first step’ towards creating and implementing a permanent set of regulations, said Morris. “Our intent is to kick-off the pilot program on May 1st and operate it for a six-month period. “
Deal struck with county administrator
We have heard from two independent sources that Jack Brown has been offered $150,000 annual salary. He has no problems with the one-year contract with a 90-day severance clause. The only items left to negotiate are minor contract details.
North Hill issue back in court
Robert Rushing and Brain Hoffman of the Carver, Darden Koretzky, Tessier, Finn, Blossman & Areaux law firm have filed, on the behalf of North Hill residents Joshua and Rachel Trahan, a motion to rehear their case against the City of Pensacola regarding the permitting of the Department of Corrections offices on North Palafox Street.
The motion states that Mayor Ashton Hayward issued a false statement this past March when he claimed that Judge Gary Bergosh’s ruling on the Trahan’s original motion meant “City officials had acted correctly in issuing permits for the building.”
The attorney say in the court documents: “There is no question Mayor Hayward’s statement is false…the City has utilized the Trahans application for Writ of Mandamus as an opportunity to confirm that the City did everything right. The City’s claim is not accurate.”
On April 2, the City, represented by the Beggs & Lane law firm, filed a motion to dismiss.
