The PNJ reported today that UWF president John Cavanaugh is one of two finalists for the presidency of the University of New Hampshire. Thought I would just check want is being written about the UNH search. Found this article – TWO IN RUNNING in The Union Ledger.
The reporter cites UWF’s recent problems with a state auditor’s report:
A report from the Florida Auditor General’s office released last week was critical of spending and oversight at the University of West Florida and questioned nearly $75,000 the school spent to restore a historic residence that was to become the president’s house. The report recommended the University of Florida Foundation reimburse the money because it was not spent for public use.
The report also criticized lax oversight of how money from student fees was spent and questioned whether or not the funds were spent to benefit students.
There was a third unnamed finalist but he dropped out.
