Whatever happened to…

Last February, Superintendent of Schools Malcolm Thomas told the IN he had another buyer for Brownsville Middle School. Whatever happened to that buyer? Diversity Program Advisors wasn’t established until December 2009. DPA founder George Hawthorne told me that he approached Thomas after the deal with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church fell through (Nov. 2010).

When we tried to find out more about any offers last summer, District official Shawn Dennis, who accused Rev. Lutimothy May of lying at the Nov. 2010 workshop–not once, but twice) told our reporter that he had two offers for the school. After we made a public request for them, Dennis told us that one of them wasn’t in writing yet.

Whatever happened to that offer? None of this is adding up. Where is the transparency in the School District administration?
