White Christmas comes to Pensacola

Press release: Pensacola is going to have a white Christmas this year and we’re not talking about snow or the sandy white beaches.

Pensacola Little Theatre is closing out the 2015 calendar year with the production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, a family-friendly Mainstage Production. The show opens December 11, 2015 and runs for two weekends at PLT’s Cultural Center building in downtown Pensacola.

White Christmas follows the story of two WWII vets who have partnered to become a song and dance act after the war. On the road they meet and then follow a duo of singing sisters to a lodge in Vermont. As it turns out, the lodge is owned by their former Army Commander who is down on his luck as the snowless Vermont winter isn’t attracting guests to the lodge. What follows is a story of romance, friendship, loyalty, and just perhaps….snow.

The show is based on the original 1954 Paramount Pictures film starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. White Christmas then premiered on Broadway in November 23, 2008 at the Marquis Theatre in New York City. The musical features well-known songs including Blue Skies, I Love A Piano, How Deep is the Ocean and the holiday favorite, White Christmas.

PLT’s version of the Irving Berlin production is directed by Mark Noel, Renee Jordan as assistant director, choreography by Mega Paracca, music direction by Ben Drennan and costume design by Mindy Iverson. Cast for White Christmas includes:

Mark Palmer as Bob Wallace
William Li as Phil Davis
Ash Dennison as Betty Haynes
Kendall Parrett as Judy Haynes
Jerry Goebel as General Henry Waverly
Kelly Shepherd as Martha Watson
Rebecca Bozeman as Susan Waverly
