Whitehead makes his big political play

For the first time sent he was elected in 2004, Commissioner Mike Whitehead plans to announce how he wants to cut $2 million from the Escambia County budget, according to the PNJ. Such a bold statement got him a headline.

My suspicion is that the former county administrator, George Touart, has a hand in his Whitehead’s new financial vision.

However, $2 million in cuts is a good thing. Wonder if any of it involves cutting commissioners’ salaries?
