The Santa Rosa Island Authority avoided any decision on redefining hotels and condos on Pensacola Beach tonight.
Why?
The word I got was the board members were informed by the Escambia County Commissioner who appointed them that they would be removed from the SRIA board if they voted on the issue. The commissioners alone want to decide this issue.
Also, I heard that the county commission plans to strip the SRIA board of any power to decide land use issues on the Pensacola Beach.
Time will tell if these rumors are true.
