Wildlife Sanctuary Annual Baby Shower and Supply Drive, April 9

The Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida hosts its Annual Baby Shower and Supply Drive on Saturday, April 9, from noon to 3:30 p.m.

The Wildlife Sanctuary operates seven days a week as a wildlife hospital for injured and orphaned wildlife. The facility relies mainly on donations and support from the community to provide care for the wonderful animals in need of a second chance. This year marks the Sanctuary’s 34th year serving the surrounding community.

Baby Shower visitors will see pelicans, herons, egrets, bald eagles, owls, hawks, vultures, opossums, turtles, snakes, and more. They can check out the “eagle cam” and watch the resident bald eagles feeding their five-week-old chick.

The event includes great nature crafts and activities for kids. Food, sodas and goodies will be available for sale, and visitors can shop for wildlife gifts and T-shirts while supporting the Sanctuary. Special guests include the UF/IFAS Escambia County Sea Grant and Roy Hyatt Environmental Center. The Wildlife Sanctuary is located at 105 North “S” Street.

The event is free, but visitors are invited to bring baby shower gifts which help offset the costs during our busiest time of year, Baby Season for the animals!

The Sanctuary Baby Shower Wish List includes: Pecans, paper towels, tissues, Simple Green, bleach, heating pads (no auto-shut offs), first class stamps, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, safflower seeds, millet seeds, mealworms, suet cakes, unsalted peanuts/pecans, fresh or frozen chicken thighs or necks, fresh or frozen small minnows, Hill’s Science Diet small bite puppy food, corn on the cob, blueberries, fruit baby food, Gerber meat baby food, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Renfroe’s etc gift cards.
