Will Obama grassroots organization last

The Obama ground game – an army of volunteers, an unprecedented get-out-the-vote effort and the heavy use of internet technologies – swept Barack Obama into office. Will this political machine stay in place to help other Democratic candidates in Congressional, U.S. Senate, state and local races in 2010?

Much will depend on how well Obama does during his first two years in office. Can he restrain a Democratic House and Senate and fend off attacks from the Conservative Right? The Democrats have got to recruit better local candidates for more races. Lumon May did better than anyone expected. Others did not. Murzin, Evers and Miller had no credible opposition from the Dems.
