Winter Storm January 2014 – Wednesday Afternoon Update

Escambia County Public Safety officials are currently monitoring impacts to our area from Winter Storm 2014. The Escambia County Emergency Operations Center remains at a level 2 activation.

Local residents are encouraged to stay home and off roadways due to continued icy conditions.

Every major bridge and roadway in Escambia County is either closed or experiencing major issues and even neighborhood streets are icy and dangerous.

The Pensacola International Airport will remain closed until 9 a.m. tomorrow morning, Thursday, January 30. Scheduled passengers are encouraged to check real-time flight information at flypensacola.com or check directly with their airline.

The following closures have been announced for Thursday, January 30:
· Escambia County Board of County Commissioners offices
· Escambia County Clerk of Court and Comptroller, all Clerk locations
· Escambia County Property Appraiser
· Escambia County School District
· Escambia County Supervisor of Elections
· Escambia County Tax Collector
· Escambia County Area Transit
· City of Pensacola offices
· West Florida Public Libraries
· Escambia and Santa Rosa County Circuit Courts, Domestic Violence Injunctions have been rescheduled to Friday, January 31
