The Gender pay gap is real. The American Association of University Women released its 50-state rankings of the wage gap between men and women today . The District of Columbia, where women earn 91¢ for each $1 earned by men, topped the list. Wyoming, where women earn only 64¢ for each $1 earned by men, was at the bottom. Florida faired well at 12.
But The national average is 77¢ paid to women for each $1 paid to men. The report addresses the WHY behind the gap, noting that some of it is dependent on choices, mothers and teachers (which are predominately female) make less. Read Report
