Councilwoman Sherri Myers will be the speaker at the next Women’s Civic Forum at 11:45 a.m. on Jan. 21, at the IHMC, 40 South Alcaniz Street.
Diana Mack, founder of the organization, said in email to the media, “Pensacola City Councilwoman Sherri Myers has a fascinating story to tell about her early life, her participation in the Civil Rights movement, and her lifelong activism in defense of civil rights, and she tells it with great energy and warmth.”
Mack said that 2015 marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The January 21 program is in remembrance of 1965 as well as in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
This program is free and open to the public and you don’t need to make a reservation.
