WSRE asks primary candidates to reserve space for August forum

Primary election candidates in select races on the ballots of Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 to qualify and reserve their spots on WSRE’s “RALLY 2016” candidate forum. The required criteria for each race are posted online at wsre.org/RALLY.

Candidates must demonstrate satisfaction of the criteria via email to Kasey Jones at wsreadmin@wsre.org.

“RALLY 2016” will air live at 7 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday, August 2–4. The program is produced by WSRE in partnership with the Pensacola Bay Area and Okaloosa County Leagues of Women Voters to give viewers an unbiased look at the candidates running for public office and an opportunity to hear their responses to questions on current issues.

Races include U.S. House of Representatives District 1; Florida Senate Districts 1 and 2; Florida House Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4; Escambia County Sheriff, County Commissioner, School Board, School Superintendent and Tax Collector; Santa Rosa County Sheriff, County Commissioner, School Board and School Superintendent; and Okaloosa County Sheriff, County Commissioner, School Board, School Superintendent and Property Appraiser.

WSRE provides “RALLY 2016” as a public service. Mollye Barrows is the producer and will co-host the program with WUWF’s Sandra Averhart. Visit wsre.org/RALLY to learn more.
