Public broadcasting station WSRE produces “RALLY†in partnership with the League of Women Voters to give Northwest Florida viewers an unbiased look at the candidates and an opportunity to hear candidates’ responses to questions on current issues. The following races will be included in the “RALLY†general election broadcast at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Oct. 26: Florida House District 1, Florida House District 2, Escambia County Commissioner Districts 1 and 3, Escambia County Sheriff, Escambia County Tax Collector, Escambia County School Superintendent and Santa Rosa County Commissioner District 3.
In an effort to be fair to candidates, and in compliance with federal election laws as they apply to federal races, an agreed-upon set of objective criteria were established. Candidates were required to satisfy the criteria in order to receive an invitation to appear on “RALLY.â€
WSRE will offer a special edition of “Conversations with Jeff Weeks†in which U.S. First Congressional District candidates will be interviewed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3. This effort is in keeping with the spirit of encouraging an informed electorate before Election Day.
