The Ft. Walton Beach Daily News reports that new owner and CEO Eric Mogensen of the Gulf Breeze Zoo says attendance is about 15 percent higher than what was budgeted.
The zoo closed in August 2009 after struggling for the four years after Hurricane Ivan. The new management, Virginia Safari Park Inc. of Natural Bridge, Va., took over earlier this year.
