Downtown Pensacola’s First Fridays Art Walk returns Friday, August 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and residents and visitors can experience an evening of local art, live music and cultural exploration in the heart of downtown.
The free monthly event encourages guests to explore Downtown Pensacola’s galleries and creative spaces, meet local artists, discover new exhibitions and enjoy refreshments and live music at select locations. Visitors can travel between the participating stops aboard the complimentary First Fridays Art Walk trolley, making it easy to experience the city’s vibrant arts community.
August Art Walk Highlights
Blue Morning Gallery?Blue Morning Gallery invites the community to celebrate Expressions, featuring artists Jan Kurtz, Brenda Wood, Elaine Woodward and Dannis Young. The exhibition brings together richly layered mixed media, whimsical gourds, atmospheric landscapes and one-of-a-kind wood-turned vessels. Guests can meet the featured artists and enjoy live music by Frances Michaels on fiddle and Bruce LaWall on guitar, including new tunes inspired by Michaels’ recent trip to Ireland.
Reverie Fine Art Collective?On view through October 4, The Architecture of Imagination by Pensacola contemporary artist Charles Presti transforms memory, perspective and everyday moments through bold geometric abstraction. During Art Walk, guests can enjoy the exhibition while listening to live music by The Preceptors, along with light bites and beverages.
Noteworthy?Noteworthy presents Pop of Color, featuring new original artwork by Pensacola artist Laurel Farrell. Guests can enjoy champagne, interactive art, custom jewelry by ALK Designs, and discover their most flattering colors through a professional color analysis with Valeria McFarland.
Sarah Soule Webb Studio?Sarah Soule Webb Studio will feature Summer Blues, Sarah’s playful new series inspired by an age-old feeling. Guests can sip champagne while exploring modern coastal artwork by Sarah Soule Webb, Loren Miller and Susan Knowlton. Visitors can also learn more about Sarah’s work through her current feature in Garden & Gun magazine—and may even have the opportunity to hold a parrot.
Artworks Seville?Artworks Seville invites guests to enjoy an evening of art, music and community. Visitors can stroll through the gallery with a glass of wine, enjoy live music by Mary Sandford, meet the gallery’s spotlight artist and enjoy light refreshments. Artworks Seville is located at 507 S. Adams Street.
Artel Gallery?Artel Gallery presents five exhibitions on view August 4 through September 11, including Phrases of a Poem in the Main Gallery, Kali in the Vault, Susan Soderling in the Award Alcove, Linda Kernick in the Backroom and Cheryl Vernon Fox in the Pandora Room. Visitors can also explore Artel’s permanent Cinco Banderas Collection, featuring 119 works.
Joe Hobbs Glass Gallery?Joe Hobbs Glass Gallery invites visitors to experience vibrant, handcrafted glass art created in Pensacola. Explore one-of-a-kind sculptures, lighting and functional glass pieces while meeting artist Joe Hobbs and learning about the craftsmanship behind his work.
Quayside Gallery?Quayside Gallery welcomes guests to explore its collection of original artwork created by local and regional artists. As one of Pensacola’s premier artist cooperatives, the gallery offers an opportunity to discover a diverse range of paintings, ceramics, jewelry, photography, sculpture and more.
Brent Lofts Gallery?Brent Lofts Gallery will welcome Art Walk visitors to explore artwork in a unique downtown setting while experiencing another creative stop along Downtown Pensacola’s growing arts corridor.
Engel & Völkers?Engel & Völkers will also participate as an Art Walk location, welcoming guests into its downtown space during the evening’s festivities while proudly serving as a sponsor of the complimentary Art Walk trolley.
A Monthly Celebration of Arts & Culture
Unlike a traditional festival, First Fridays Art Walk offers a relaxed, gallery-focused experience that encourages visitors to spend time with artists, explore downtown’s creative spaces and discover something new each month. The event is designed to showcase the depth and diversity of Pensacola’s arts community while encouraging residents and visitors to experience Downtown Pensacola in a meaningful way.
The complimentary Art Walk trolley is made possible through the generous support of the Downtown Improvement Board and Engel & Völkers, providing convenient transportation between participating locations throughout the evening.
