Escambia Voting Up Over 2022 Figures

Election

Escambia County’s voter turnout is stronger than it was four years ago, according to Election Supervisor Robert Bender.

As of this morning, 5,330 more votes have been cast than in 2024, a 28.5% increase.

  • “Each day has outpaced the corresponding day from 2022,” Bender said.

His team has responded to increased voting interest. He said. “I am not aware of a line of more than about 10 people at any given time, but usually only a few people. We added check-in machines at the five busiest sites.”

  • Bender expects the vote-by-mail ballot to be about 8,000 fewer than four years ago. He said that of the 27,657 requests mailed, about 16,000 have been received. In 2022, the Escambia Supervisor of Elections office counted 31,382 vote-by-mail ballots.
