ECUA Now Recycling Glass

The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority has added glass and numerous other items to its list of curbside recyclables. According to a release from the utility, customers can begin putting the new items in their cans on Aug. 17.

Here is the list of items:

  • All glass bottles and jars – no need to sort by color or remove labels.
  • Old metal cookie sheets
  • Aluminum baking pans
  • Metal pots and pans
  • Plastic and metal hangers
  • Tin foil
  • Pie tins
  • Egg cartons (Cardboard / Paperboard only – No styrofoam)
  • Pizza boxes
  • Bubble wrap

The ECUA board approved a contract with West Florida Recycling, LLC in the spring and began picking up bulk recycling for its customers in June.  The City of Pensacola started glass recycling for its sanitation customers in April.
