Buzz: ESP has sales tax issues

We are hearing that during recent sales tax audit it was discover Energy Services of Pensacola (ESP) incorrectly coded several local my businesses as “tax exempt” and failed to collect sales taxes from them. I was sent an email from one business owner who is being hit for $5,296 in sales taxes that must be paid in within next 12-18 months.

According to the business owner, “We’ve been fortunate to keep our doors open during this very difficult economy, but this mistake by ESP will likely put us out of business and employees out of work. ESP told me there were ‘hundreds of accounts’ like this.”
