Remembering Elizabeth Edwards

Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former Senator John Edwards, died yesterday after a six-year battle with breast cancer. She was a brilliant lawyer and author. When in New Orleans for the The Daily Beast Innovation Summit, I had lunch with Marc Adelman at Acme Oyster Bar.

Adelman, a public affairs consultant, worked with John and Elizabeth Edwards. He talked about how demanding and tough she was. In 2007, Dee Dee Ritchie tried to get her to be an honorary chair for the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Barons Ball, but the deal fell through at the last minute.

Here is an obit by WRAL in Raleigh-Durham. You may also want to read Elizabeth Edwards’ Final Days.
