Pay question

The average pay for a department head or director in both Escambia County and the City of Pensacola is over $90,000.

Question: How many department head and company managers in the local private sector are making that much?

From my conversations, I’m hearing $65000-$75,000 is more the norm in the private sector. Of course, the issue may not be government pay is too high, but private sector pay is too low.

Or maybe we all should work for the county or city?
