Had a reader complained about a Yahoo toobar being added to his Firefox browser when he downloaded other software. It was default setting that he didn’t catch when the new software was installed. Suddenly Yahoo was popping up every time he opened a new tab on his browser. He used the Firefox help and found these instructions:
“Yahoo is one of the most annoying businesses. I’d like to sue them. Go to Tools | add-ons. Uninstall Yahoo Toolbar, and Disable Freeze.com NetAssistant. That should prevent this criminal intrusion by a scum company. NEVER use Yahoo.”
The reader uninstalled Yahoo Toolbar and disabled Freeze.com NetAssistant and is back using Google like he always has.
