Buzz: Plea deal in Tate case

My sources tell me that the 16-year-old suspect in the March 1 sexual assault at Tate High School will plead guilty on Monday, April 11 to the assault on the 14 year old female student being a forced incident and will be placed on probation, agreeing to counseling and no contact order with the witnesses or victim.

Tate High School officials had originally done their own investigation and determined that no crime had been committed, declared the oral sex was consensual and suspended both the suspect and the victim. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office investigation on the incident concluded with the boy being arrested on March 21. The victim remained suspended three additional days after the suspect was arrested.
