Press Release: Fiddler’s Walk, located on West Roberts Road one block west of Pine Forest Road, is soon to become Pensacola’s first National Association of Home Builder’s (NAHB) Green Certified neighborhood. Paragon Custom Home Group, Celebrity Home Builders and J. Taylor Homes, Inc. are the primary homebuilders in this new development.
Paragon Custom Home Builders and Celebrity Home Builders eagerly agreed to be a part of Fiddler’s Walk and each currently have several homes under construction in the development. “Today’s home buyers are becoming increasingly aware of green building practices and are seeking homes that are more energy efficient and have a smaller environmental impact,†said Jeff Godfrey, vice president of sales and marketing for Paragon Custom Home Group and Celebrity Home Builders. “Participating in this development allows us to provide homeowners with comfort and value in an environmentally responsible home.â€
Jaime Granat with J. Taylor Homes, Inc. agrees.
“We are excited about developing and building in the first subdivision in Escambia County to have all homes certified to NAHB green standards,†she said. “We feel that green building is the way of the future. Home buyers will want this to become the standard, and we look forward to the opportunity to offer buyers what they want.â€
J. Taylor is expected to begin construction of a Fiddler’s Walk home within 60 days and it is expected to be completed within the following 90-to-120 days. The upscale patio homes will be between 1,300-1,700 square-feet and range in price from $140,000-$175,000. J. Taylor’s “green†homes will include special features, such as low “e†windows, low VOC paint, natural gas appliances, native landscaping and attention to preserving existing trees.
Once the homes are completed, Larry Hunter, senior marketing representative for Energy Services of Pensacola, will certify them as meeting NAHB guidelines.
The NAHB Green Building Certification assures homeowners and the community that projects are truly “green†and meet the requirements of the NAHB National Green Building Standard. The guidelines are extensive and multiple steps are required before a building or project can be certified. An accredited NAHB Green Verifier can assist in the process.
Hunter, who recently earned the designation of a Green Verifier from the NAHB, can assist designers and builders in achieving “green†status for their homes.
