Buzz: GBMS out at 1:30 pm next school year

The daily newspaper wrote about the Santa Rosa public schools dropping a period for both the middle and high schools. The savings will help the district deal with the $12 million cut passed by the state legislature —Clay Ingram, Clay Ford, Matt Gaetz, Doug Broxson, Don Gaetz and Greg Evers—and to be signed by Gov. Rick Scott.

Gulf Breeze Middle School parents are being told that school will run next year from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 a.m.

The community will need to figure out to deal with middle school students being dumped for most of the afternoon. After school activities and programs will need to charge more because they will dealing with the kids for longer periods.
