Some Pensacola Beach businesses are spreading rumors that Jane’s Addiction will bring a negative element to the beach. They fear riots and uncontrolled lawlessness. After all, the band has “addiction” in its name. Now the naysayers can’t name one Jane’s Addiction concert that went bad, but facts have never stopped a good DeLuna Fest bashing.
Jane’s Addiction is an American alternative rock band that has been around–with various line-ups– since 1985, which means their hardcore fans are in their 40s. They are ranked 35th on VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” list and have been called “Icons of the Alternative Nation.” They played the first Lollapalooza.
The playing at DeLuna Fest is perfect because they have a new album that will be released in August -“The Great Escape Artist.”
