There is actually a Democrat in the state House who dares to question the 2007-08 budget because of all the “turkeys” hidden in the bill. It’s Ron Saunders (D-Key West).
Of course, he’s upset that a special project for his district didn’t get added – $20-million toward the central sewer system in the Keys. But Republican Stan Mayfield got $18.7-million in projects in his Vero Beach district.
“The big dogs get to eat first, and more,” Saunders told St. Pete Times political columnist Steve .
BTW – Saunders was one of the state legislators that was encouraging DeeDee Ritchie to run for House Dist. 3 seat that Clay Ford won in February.
