Nodine faces new charges

Mobile Press Register reports former Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine now faces a misdemeanor charge of criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of his longtime girlfriend and perjury charges.

The misdemeanor charge has a maximum sentence of one year in jail, and perjury is a felony that carries up to 10 years in prison. Nodine is serving time in a federal prison in Florida on a gun conviction.
