How wrong the WSJ has been

Paul Krugman takes a shot at the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal whose predictions have included over the years:

Of course, I like to remind the brain trust at the Pensacola News Journal about their prediction of the 2008 Republican primary in the Escambia County’s sheriff’s race:

“Our perception of the Sheriff’s Office (Ron McNesby) is that it runs as effectively as it has in a long time, and that most voters are comfortable with law enforcement they believe they can depend on.”

We endorsed David Morgan: “It’s time for change. Eight years are enough for Ronnie Mac and his cronies. Too much money has been wasted on helicopters, boats, flat-screen televisions and now, imitation Segways.”

McNesby lost the primary, 57% to 43%.
