Press Release: Port of Pensacola secures grant funding, attendance up at pre-school programs, and City launches Facebook and Twitter
–The Port of Pensacola has been awarded $1.95 million in grant funding from the Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development (FSTED) Council. The funding will be used to repair saltwater intrusion damage at the Port’s Berth 6.
–Attendance at the West Florida Public Library’s preschool programs increased substantially this summer. System-wide, attendance rose 15% over last year, with the biggest increase coming at the Westside Branch Library, where attendance is up 197%. A total of 1,829 preschoolers attended the Library’s preschool programs this summer.
–In keeping with Mayor Hayward’s commitment to customer service and making information more readily available, the City of Pensacola has launched Facebook and Twitter profiles as yet another way to inform and engage citizens. The social media channels will feature news and updates about City programs and events, meeting notices, and more.
