Gannett partner struggling

It was big news when Gannett, the owner of Bella magazine, GoPensacola, Pelican statues and, oh yeah, the daily newspaper, announced its ad partnership with Yahoo. Local Gannett ad reps spent a week training how to sell Yahoo to their customers.

Fifteen months later, Yahoo is in trouble. Google is kicking its butt.The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the company might sell a 20 percent stake to a private equity firm, essentially handing over the reins. The Gannett partnership didn’t save Yahoo…or Gannett.
