MLB catcher kidnapped

Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos appears to have been kidnapped while visiting his native Venezuela. It is interesting to note that most of our major league teams employ bodyguards to escort their players while visiting home or playing in winter leagues. It is even more interesting to note that 618 kidnappings were reported in 2009 while in 1998 – when President Hugo Chavez was elected – just 52 kidnappings were reported
