Buzz: Thomas creates position for fired EDS principal

There is a buzz in the Escambia County Public School District that Superintendent Malcolm Thomas has created a position – Executive Assistant to the Superintendent – with a salary range of $52,856 to $64,430, and he may already know who he wants to fill it.

As one district employer wrote the IN, “Several of us believe it has been especially created for Beverly Patteson. She is a big buddy of the superintendent. If you read the details in the job description it should just say, no one else need apply because Beverly Patteson will be getting this job.”

Patterson was fired last Thursday (Nov. 10) by the Episcopal Day School board. This new job was posted Wednesday, Nov. 16 and will close on 11/28/11…a clear indication Superintendent Thomas already has someone in mind for the position.
