Another bizarre GOP debate

The Republican Party’s presidential nomination process has become a weird reality show. There hasn’t been anything like it since Anna Nicole Smith had her show on E.

Things got emotional at the Republican presidential debate last night in Iowa. Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and former pizza executive Herman Cain both choked up and fought back tears. Santorum got misty-eyed when he talked about the struggles facing his young daughter Isabella, who was born with the genetic disorder Trisomy 18, which results in main-organ malfunctions. Cain, on the other hand, choked up about being diagnosed with cancer.

Gov. Rick Perry reached out to comfort both men, who flanked him, as they told their stories. Forum moderator Frank Luntz said: “I feel like Dr. Phil.”
