BP is accusing Halliburton of destroying evidence which could show the company shares the blame for the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
In a filing today in a New Orleans federal court, BP charged that Halliburton Energy Services Inc. destroyed test results that indicated samples of the cement originally used to seal the well were unstable. BP is also accusing Halliburton of suppressing computer models that could show the company’s at fault.
The two titans of the oil industry are already mired in a legal battle over which company is to blame for the blowout that killed 11 men and led to the worst oil spill in this country’s history.
