On Tuesday, December 13, ARC Gateway will host a blood drive in honor of Donna Fassett. Fassett, is the Executive Director of ARC Gateway and a tireless advocate for children and adults with developmental disabilities. She is presently undergoing chemotherapy as part of her Lymphoma treatment plan. The Northwest Florida Bloodmobile will be at ARC Gateway from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by calling ARC Gateway.
Following the blood drive, ARC Gateway will host their annual Tree of Lights Ceremony. This event is free and open to the public. The ARC Gateway Choir will sing some of their favorite Christmas carols; and Sue Straughn will read the names of the people being honored during the lighting. To request a light on the tree for a loved one, please call ARC Gateway. A $10 donation is requested for each light.
The Blood Drive in honor of Donna Fassett is designed to show support of a woman who has given generously of herself to ARC Gateway and our community. In addition to her leadership in the disability community, she has been very involved with the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival, Fiesta of Five Flags, Five Flags Rotary, the Sacred Heart Board of Directors, the Florida Council of Executive Directors, the United Way Agency Directors Association and many other organizations.
