From IN editor Duwayne Escobedo:
By now most people have heard about the tragic death of Leonard Black in the Escambia County jail and the questions it raises about how local judges, state prosecutors and probation officers treat violation of probation cases.
Sources tell IN that the Escambia County jail had another inmate death the same day as Black’s. James Williams died after excessive vomiting and diarrhea and passing out unconscious on the floor. Jail medical contractors allegedly refused him treatment. EMTs allegedly arrived and dragged the unconscious Williams by his feet face down through his own vomit and feces on his cell floor, sources say. Stay tuned for more info.
