Candidate Breakfast

On Saturday, July 28, there will be a candidate breakfast at Woodham Middle School Gymnasium from 8-11 a.m. It’s not a debate or forum. Candidates will have tables in the gym and the public can move around and talk one-on-one with each candidate.

“People can ask what they want to know,” said Alishia McDonald, an attorney who is organizing the event. “When I ran for office two years, I found that the opportunities for people to just talk directly with the candidates were lacking.”

So far, 12 candidates have committed to be at the breakfast which is sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Movement for Change, the Gathering Bookstore, WRNE 980AM Radio, Independent News, Southern Christian Leadership Council (SCLC), NW Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Operation People for Peace, the Law Office of Alishia W. McDonald, Pensacola Voice Newspaper, Son Valley Hair Salon, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP),Family Focus Policy Council and other civic-minded groups.

“The Candidates Breakfast is an opportunity for you to come and meet your candidates in a relaxed and casual atmosphere,” said McDonald.
