OWC two-step

First the president of Okaloosa-Walton College retires on Sept. 30. Thirty days later, the OWC board of trustees is ready to rehire Bob Richburg. Shades of Touart?

No, the Daily News explains:

Richburg left OWC Sept. 31 after 30 years in the Florida’s community college system to take advantage of the state’s deferred retirement option program. State law requires him to stay away from the college for 30 days.

The question I have is this stunt helps Richburg – what does it cost the taxpayers? We allow the people we like to manipulate the rules and those we dislike we don’t.
