Ever wondered what space smells like? The Atlantic did and has a piece online that can satisfy one of those curiosities you never knew you had until someone else mentioned it. NASA has hired a scent chemist by the name of Steve Pearce to recreate the smell of space for training purposes.

What space smells like, according to those who have experienced it firsthand:
• seared steak
• hot metal
• wielding fumes
• gunpowder
• rum
• ozone

NASA would probably have an easier time marketing this as their signature fragrance than Burger King had with “Flame.”
