Shootings continue

Press Release: Escambia County deputies are investigating two overnight drive by shootings. On August 20th, 2012 around 2116hrs deputies were notified of a shots fired call in the 2200 blk of W. Blount St.

Once on scene they found an adult female had been shot in the leg. The female had been in the house when she heard shots and felt pain in her leg. It is believed the shots were fired from a vehicle as it drove by.

The female was transported to a local hospital by EMS with non-life
threating injuries; no one else in the home was injured. The gun crime response team responded and is assisting in the investigation.

This morning around 0615hrs deputies responded to the 3100blk of West Moreno St for another shots fired call. The victims reported hearing gunshots in front of their home and then a vehicle leaving the area. The home was struck by bullets but none of the occupants were struck or injured. At this time there is no description of the suspect vehicle.

Investigators are asking for help from the community. If anyone knows anything about these crimes they are asked to contact Gulf Coast Crimes Stoppers at 850-433-STOP. Witnesses do not have to give their name and may remain anonymous.
