Relay for Life of Pensacola 2013 is set for May 10-11, 2013 at Booker T. Washington High School. To celebrate the start of Relay season and commence event fundraising efforts, 2013 Pensacola Relay for Life Chairman Buzz Ritchie invites community members, supporters, cancer survivors and prospective Relay for Life participants to a “Power of Purple†Pep Rally on Thursday, Nov. 15.
The “Power of Purple†Pep Rally will include food, drinks, entertainment, giveaways, and an opportunity to learn more about becoming involved with Relay for Life of Pensacola. Area cancer survivors are asked to attend for a special recognition and celebration. The event is open to the public. All ages welcome.
Each year, more than 4 million people in more than 20 countries take part in Relay for Life events to raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. Over the last several years thousands of Relay for Life of Pensacola participants have raised on average $200,000 each year. With these funds, the American Cancer Society works to find cures and provide local programs to help those impacted by all forms of cancer.
Relay for Life of Pensacola is the largest of the 10 Relay for Life events in the Pensacola Bay Area. To learn more or sign up to participate in the Pensacola Relay for Life, visit www.PensacolaRelay.com.
