Selling wrong building

After reading the daily newspaper’s story on the Ice Pilots offering to buy the Pensacola Civic Center, I think we are selling the wrong facility. We should sell the new $20-million+ Escambia County office complex or Pensacola City Hall instead. They’re costing us a heck of a lot more money. And we get all the concessions.

Seriously, do the Ice Pilots have the financial stability and the management expertise to run the Civic Center? SMG is bringing great bands – and could do more if it didn’t have the Ice Pilots. Maybe we should look at selling to SMG instead of a losing hockey team – with out of town owners who could pull up stakes at any time.

If concession revenue and parking are the issues, let them have those during their home games.
