A survey released by the Pentagon yesterday estimates that sexual assaults in the military have increased over 36 percent since 2010–jumping from 19,000 people in the armed forces assaulted in 2010 to 26,000.

The sharp rise has drawn the ire of President Obama and Congress. At a White House press conference, Obama said, ” “The bottom line is, I have no tolerance for this. If we find out somebody’s engaging in this stuff, they’ve got to be held accountable, prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court-martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged. Period.”
