The Downtown Improvement Board was told yesterday that 900 people attended the joint DIB-City of Pensacola event on Oct. 24 to celebrate that Palafox Street had been named a Great Place in America for 2013 by the American Planning Association.
Jane Birdwell, president of Birdwell Agency, which handles marketing for the DIB, said, “We counted 900 people through a variety (of ways). The pictures are all posted on the web so you can kind of see the attendance for yourselves. The vibrancy of the event was a great collaboration.”
She also said the “loose number†for the Halloween event on Oct. 30 was 8,000 people.
Our head counts were different both for Palafox Celebration, maybe 150, and Halloween Trick-or-Treat, about 3000. However, we didn’t use an scientific methods to measure the crowd.
