As winter weather conditions continue throughout Escambia County, the following bridges are currently closed:
•Theo Baars Bridge (Perdido Key Drive) to Perdido Key – Despite the bridge closure, medical and rescue crews are available on Perdido Key for emergency situations
•The Barrancas Bridge over Bayou Chico
•The Bayou Texar Bridge
•The Interstate 10 bridge over the Perdido River is down to one lane from Alabama to Florida
•The Interstate 10 bridge over Escambia Bay leading into Santa Rosa County has been closed in both directions
Crews are treating ice on the bridges and the status of the roadways will be reassessed at a later time. Residents are advised to stay off all roadways if at all possible until conditions improve.
