Freshman State Rep. Mike Hill has set his sights on being the Speaker of the House by 2020. Though he likes to describe himself not as an African-American, but just an American, Hill knew his race gives him an advantage in the Republican Party. He would be the first black named Speaker since Reconstruction, if he wins the post.
Today, the Advantage Consulting Team is hosting a fundraiser for Hill in Tallahassee. You can expect people to start lining up behind him, as long as he doesn’t blow it during this first session. The Advantage Consulting Team is lobbyist for State Farm, for which Hill works.
