Small businessman Mark Taylor filed today to run for the District 6 seat on the Pensacola City Council.
Taylor, 33, is the owner of Mark Taylor Construction and co-founder and volunteer coordinator of Pensacola World Changers, a charity that has replaced 105 roofs, built wheel chair ramps, and sponsored over 1,000 children at Christmas. Mark is a graduate of the Leadership Pensacola program and currently serves as a member of the Community Maritime Park Associates Board of Trustees.
“My whole life has been dedicated to service, whether locally or across the world,†said Taylor. “Pensacola has been my family’s home for six generations and I have a strong desire to help grow this community that I love so much.â€
Pensacola’s District 6 is one of the city’s most diverse areas, including portions of the Downtown Pensacola, Belmont-Devilliers, North Hill, Long Hollow, Eastside, and East Hill neighborhoods. “I’m looking forward to bringing my commitment to service and integrity to the City Council and to being a tireless advocate for neighborhoods, public safety, and economic development,†said Taylor.
Mark and his wife Amber are active members of the community and live in East Hill with their two children.
