Fogg will give Rusty everything

The Pensacola City Council voted yesterday to have Mayor John Fogg negotiate with Rusty “Jackpot” Wells on his new contract with the city for the city attorney position.

This should be fun! Imagine the conversation.

Fogg: “Rusty, do you want to work 8 months out of the year or 10? We can’t let you take a pay cut by giving up the ECSO job – let’s tack on another $60K to the salary?

What kind of car do you want to drive – convertible BMW? Then let’s make sure we give you a nice car allowance for your drives from City Hall to the judicial building that’s 50 yards away.

Retirement? Hell, Rusty, we will close a community center to make sure your retirement sets you up for life.”

The contract negotiations will be tough.
