Pensacola employer prospect?

The Tampa Tribune reports that the global electronics maker Jabil Circuit Inc. is considering moving its headquarters and manufacturing operations out of St. Petersburg. Jabil employs about 2,000 people in the area. A few hundred work at a high-tech manufacturing site making electronics for the military and aerospace clients; the remainder work in the administrative and headquarters operation.

They want incentives from St. Petersburg to stay. What kind of incentives could we offer? Where would we put them? A office tower at Community Maritime Park perhaps, but, wait a second, we have not started building there yet. We’ve not cut the grass so we can’t show them the property.

Could Jabal wait until 2013?
