Bad hiring at DOJ

Last month I reported on how the Department of Justice under Alberto Gonzalez had used the Internet to reject some of the top law students in the country from getting internships and being accepted into honors programs as the DOJ. New York Times reports that the political background checks went much further and were done for other hirings. The actions constituted official misconduct in violation of federal Civil Service laws and the department’s internal policies.
